I had an opportunity to speak with Bill Cubbage, CHS 1962, the morning after preview night and I have to admit - I may have to quit telling lawyer jokes or make up some new ones! Bill is a part of the Suitehearts’ cast and told me that his wife, Carol – Suitehearts’ directress - requires at least 8 weeks rehearsal for any of the plays she directs. Bill said that he enjoys the journey and it’s a time for the cast to get to know each other, learn the different personalities and the actual performances are the icing on the cake.

The Suitehearts Cast included:

John Alcorn, CCT star and veteran, portrays Timothy Taylor, the new groom.

Meredith Kaminshine, shines in her 2nd onstage performance, is a Bank of Cushing employee and portrays Elizabeth Taylor, the new bride.

Scott House, AT&T employee and former Marlow High School State Wrestling Champ, portrays Frankie Bellamy – the elder groom.

Krystal Hutchko, 1st time performance on CCT stage, hails from Ripley, OK and portrays Wanda Bellamy – the elder bride.

Bill Cubbage is a local Cushing Attorney, CHS 1962 grad and member of the second CHS Football State Champion team 1962. Bill portrays Herman, the not so ethical bellboy.

The setting of Suitehearts is one of the finer hotels in New York City. There are no vacancies to be found in NYC and the newlyweds are booked into the hotel’s honeymoon suite along with another married couple who are perhaps looking for a second honeymoon. WHAT! Two couples sharing the same suite at the same time? Gosh, which couple gets the complimentary champagne? How will the couples’ consternation work to the bellboy’s benefit? The production dates have slipped by and I am still sworn to secrecy! If you missed out, you may have to bribe the bellboy to whet your curiosity!
